Hi, I’m Em. I’m many things, but first and foremost, I am a curious mind. Some would say complicated – I say I am deep (*smiles). I have more depth than a puddle and lots going on in my mind.

In life, I’m a social researcher, nature-lover, adventurer; a cat mum, human mum and many other relational roles; I’m a music lover, artist, marine fish and coral keeper; I feed my local homeless friend, care about my impact and promote kindness. Debate is healthy, but bigotry is unwelcome. I love learning and tuning into something – I have a busy mind but room for obsessions. I crave connection and energy.

Context is everything and existance is complex. If we stop and really notice things, we can have our minds blown or simply enriched a little. We can learn alot about how this almost unfathomable world works.

The humble woodlouse..What is it like to be a woodlouse?

Probably pretty routine driven..? If I had a piece of rotting wood in a humid spot at the bottom of the garden or the forest floor, I’d spend a fair bit of time bedding in and planning my next meal or brood. I’d be quick about it as I only live 4 years. and They must think (do they think??) that humans are some pretty gigantic clamatous beings jalopping over to prod them or redesign their landscape. Perhaps the most interesting thing about woodlice, apart from their cute little shuffle, is their relation to marine isopods!! Sometimes referred to as a land lobster, they are a type of crustacean! Who knew???? Does that mean that someone with a severe crustacean allergy – say IGE anaphalaxis would not be able to touch them?
